Bra-Blems | Lingerie Fit Issues

Hi everyone! For today's Friday Fashion post I thought I'd bring you something a bit different. As many of you know, I am a fashion student, so I have learnt a lot about the importance of well fitting clothes, and that goes right down to a correctly fitted bra! So, when I heard about ThirdLove, a lingerie company that specializes in bras and a great fit, and saw their graphic on bra-blems, I was definitely up for sharing my thoughts on well fitting lingerie, as well as their professional 'Bra Fitting 101' image. As you'll know from a few of my past fashion posts, I'm a big fan of lingerie, I think a pretty lingerie set can really improve your mood and confidence, so it's really important that it fits well! Secondly, I thought I'd share my own personal tips for getting a good fit for your lingerie. It's really important to remember that a good fitting bra will make your clothes look 10x better, as they will skim over your bust without any problems with spilling out or gaping! So, my first tip would be to get yourself measured! Have a think about the last time you had a bra fitting, and if it was more than 6 months ago, it's a great idea to get it done again. You can get a fitting at most lingerie stores: Boux Avenue, Victoria's Secret, M&S, Debenhams, Next... wherever you feel most comfortable! I'd recommend going to a store that you already buy your bras from anyway, as sizing does vary very slightly from store to store. If you really feel super uncomfortable about getting measured by someone else, Third Love's 'My Fit' helps to eliminate that, and ensure you still get a great fitting bra! I took the quiz and my recommended bra was the 24/7 Classic T-shirt Bra. Whichever way you like to get measured, once you've got your size correct, you have a good excuse to get shopping! If you're a DD+ and struggle to find good bras for your size, I'd highly recommend Boux Avenue - they pride themselves on offering sizes for all. Their pieces are so gorgeous and fashionable too. There are so many out there these days: balcony, plunge, push up, triangle, t-shirt - it can get a bit overwhelming! Firstly, I'd take advice from Third Love and try a plunge/push up style if you find you often get gaping cups at the top of your bra. For bigger bust, a more supportive style like a balcony may be better, whilst a t-shirt bra is essential in everyone's wardrobe as they're perfect for wearing under tighter fitting clothing. It also depends on the size and shape of your breasts, as they can really affect how different bra styles look and fit on you.
